surf board repair

Just checked the surf online, looks fun, i want to paddle out, my board is kinda thrashed with a chunk out of the nose. I've been ignoring it and it's getting worse, I think it is time to repair now. Resin session!

rock it

Paddle out for a rock session, water blue, sky sunny clear beautiful, wind chill, and water chiller. Tides are strong, have to paddle a lot to stay in one place where the waves appear to break, low tide, so it is shallow with strong undertow next to the rock on the inside.

Get one steep drop and hang on to manage my way around the massive white water section to finally get in a turn before falling off into a foot or two of water. The waves are surging in rock style, chunky blobs wobbling in from under the horizon, water formed like staircase shelves, take off on one, drop onto another.

I get a couple other non-noteworthy waves, a few short rides so memorable i can't seem to remember.

Driving up the coast, Cayucos area is slightly offshore, clean and kinda barreling, peaky, and overall kindness. I made the wrong call this morning with my surf spot selection, oh well.

peace.

spring tyme

Well Spring is here, at least I think so. The last two days show howling afternoon winds, cool breezes, and junky whitecaps. A few waves to be had for the jonser, but nothing kind.

Haven't got out for a surf for about a week now, I'm anxious for the first South swell this season. Hoping to score the reefs north of Cayucos when it hits.

Big wave shot of Central Cali in last issue of Surfer magazine, looked like Spooners Cove, big heavy solid swell, a clean break shot.

So as for now, the kite surfers are stoked, surfers not so. I expect to score some waves tomorrow.

surf check

Surf is building today, north county beaches foggy, waves a little junky. Cayucos area looks fun early a.m., most the reefs north of town breaking.

silver shoals

Surfed a Longboard today, single fin, duct tape only holding it together with some wax. It is choppy, mid-morning sunny blue, all the pollies sunning along the beach, x-tina is with me baking.

I drop into a couple 4ft rides, a few are long into the shorebreak, I have no leash, there are set waves 4+ range, lots of people to take a log to the head so I am extra careful.

caykookos

Surf is 3/4ft with 5ft set waves, water is slightly choppy, little
sections to make amongst the crumbles and closers.

I get a fast right section, it is worth the paddle even though i'm worn from
the semi-strong tides and lots of drinking at the 'jungle rocks' madonna
inn party last night.
